- Work Experience:- Demonstrated skilled work experience in South Australia in the nominated occupation.
- Commitment to South Australia:- Evidence of a long-term commitment to living and working in South Australia.
- Skill Level:- The occupation must be listed on the South Australian Skilled Occupation List.
- Registration of Interest (ROI):- Must submit an ROI and be selected for nomination.
- Residency Status:- Must reside in South Australia at the time of application.
2. South Australian Graduates Stream
South Australian Qualification:- Must have completed a qualification in South Australia.
Current Employment:- Currently working in South Australia in the nominated or closely related occupation.
Work Experience:- Relevant work experience in the nominated or closely related occupation.
Skill Level:- The occupation must be listed on the South Australian Skilled Occupation List.
Commitment to South Australia:- Evidence of long-term commitment, such as ongoing employment and ties to the state.

Residency Status:- Must reside in South Australia at the time of application
3. Outer Regional Skilled Employment Stream
- Current Employment:- Must be currently employed in an outer regional area of South Australia in the nominated occupation or a closely related occupation.

- Regional Commitment:- Evidence of commitment to living and working in an outer regional area of South Australia.
- Skill Level:- The occupation must be on the South Australian Skilled Occupation List and available for the outer regional area.

- Residency Status:- Must reside in an outer regional area of South Australia at the time of application.
Offshore Stream
For skilled professionals residing offshore, South Australia offers opportunities through the Offshore Stream. With 427 occupations open to experienced overseas workers, this stream targets individuals with skills in high demand in South Australia. Offshore invitation rounds are expected to occur regularly throughout the program year, starting from the program’s opening and continuing at the end of each month from September 2024. Interested applicants should ensure their Expression of Interest (EOI) is up to date, with South Australia selected as their primary state of interest.

At present, South Australia is not accepting new applications for state nomination under the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188).
