Visitor Visa

The Subclass 600 Visitor Visa is a temporary visa that allows individuals from any nationality to visit Australia for tourism, to visit family and friends, or for short-term business activities. It is the primary visitor visa pathway for nationalities not eligible for ETA (Subclass 601) or eVisitor (Subclass 651) — including Indian passport holders. The visa typically allows stays of 3 to 12 months, with single or multiple entry options. It does not permit paid employment. The Subclass 600 is divided into four streams: Tourist, Sponsored Family, Business Visitor, and Frequent Traveller.
Hold a valid passport from any country
Genuinely intend to visit Australia temporarily
Demonstrate sufficient funds to support your stay
Have strong ties to your home country (employment, family, property, financial obligations)
Intend to depart Australia before your visa expires
Meet health and character requirements
Not be excluded under Australian migration law
Business stream: have relevant background and purpose for the business visit
