The K-1 Fiancé(e) Visa allows the fiancé(e) of a US citizen to enter the United States for marriage. The couple must legally marry within 90 days of the foreign fiancé(e)’s arrival in the US. After marriage, the applicant can apply for Adjustment of Status to obtain a Green Card and become a permanent resident.

The US citizen files Form I-129F with USCIS for the fiancé(e).
USCIS reviews and approves the petition.
The case is transferred to the National Visa Center and US Embassy.

Attend the K-1 visa interview with relationship and financial documents.
After approval, travel to the US using the K-1 visa.
The couple must legally marry within 90 days of entry.
File Adjustment of Status after marriage for permanent residency.
