Must be endorsed by a UKVI-approved endorsing body. ILR available after 3 years (Exceptional Talent) or 5 years (Exceptional Promise). Full self-employment and freelancing permitted.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Identify your endorsing body
Confirm which UKVI-approved body covers your field: Royal Society/UKRI (academia), Arts Council (arts), Tech Nation successor (digital tech).

Submit endorsement application
Apply to the endorsing body with your portfolio, CV, evidence of achievements, and letters of support.

Receive endorsement decision
Typically 4–8 weeks. A successful endorsement letter is valid for 3 months to submit your UKVI visa application.

Apply online for Global Talent Visa
Apply at gov.uk/global-talent within 3 months of your endorsement, paying the £716 visa fee plus IHS.

Biometrics & decision
Attend VFS Global biometrics in India. UKVI decision within 3 weeks.
