What is the Standard Visitor Visa (SVV) Visa?
Allows Indian nationals to visit the UK for tourism, visiting family/friends, business meetings, or medical treatment. Stays of up to 6 months per visit. Can be granted as a multiple-entry visa valid for up to 10 years. No paid work permitted.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Apply online via UKVI
Create an account at gov.uk/apply-uk-visa and complete the online application form.

Pay the visa fee
Pay £115 for a standard 6-month visa (or £400–£837 for long-term multiple-entry options).

Book biometrics appointment
Schedule an appointment at a VFS Global centre in India for fingerprints and photos.

Collect & upload documents
Gather bank statements, employment letter, invitation letter, itinerary, and hotel bookings.

Attend biometrics
Visit the VFS Global centre on your appointment date with passport and all documents.

Await decision
Standard processing takes up to 3 weeks. Priority (5 working days) and Super Priority (next day) are available.
