The UK Student Visa is for Indian nationals aged 16 and over who have been accepted onto a full-time course at a UKVI-licensed education provider. Holders can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays. After graduation, a Graduate Visa (2 years for bachelor's and master's; 3 years for PhD) allows unrestricted work rights with no employer sponsorship required.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number from a UKVI-licensed sponsor institution.
English language proficiency: IELTS Academic 5.5–7.0 (depending on course level and institution)
Sufficient financial funds: tuition fees for Year 1 + £1,334 per month for living costs (£1,023/month if studying outside London), held in account for 28 consecutive days

Take the approved TB test at a designated clinic in India. Results valid for 6 months.
Complete the Student Visa application at gov.uk/student-visa. Enter CAS number and upload all documents.
Pay £558 visa fee plus £776/year Immigration Health Surcharge for entire study duration.
Book and attend VFS Global biometrics appointment in India.
Collect a Biometric Residence Permit from your university or post office within 10 days of arriving in the UK.

Yes, if studying at postgraduate level (RQF Level 7+) at a university. Your partner can apply as a Student Dependent with 20 hours/week work rights. Undergraduate students generally cannot bring dependents.
