  • The NSW Skilled Migration 2025 program is open for both onshore and offshore skilled professionals. Applicants from India or any other country are eligible to apply for NSW nomination under subclass 190 or 491.

Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated):

What is the Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)?
  • A points-tested permanent visa that allows skilled workers to live and work in Australia.
  • You must be nominated by a state or territory government, such as NSW.
  • Once granted, you become a permanent resident, with access to Medicare, education, and a pathway to citizenship.
Eligibility criteria:
  • Be under 45 years old at the time of nomination, invitation, and visa finalisation.
  • Have an Expression of Interest (EOI) selected.
  • Live in NSW or be offshore.
  • Occupation listed on the NSW Skills List.
  • Hold a valid skills assessment.
  • Receive the NSW state invitation to apply.
  • Meet points test, English, health, and character requirements.

Subclass 491(Skilled Work Regional Visa):

What Is the Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491)?
  • This is a points-tested provisional visa for skilled workers who want to live and work in regional Australia.
  • It's valid for 5 years and offers a pathway to permanent residency through the subclass 191 visa, provided certain conditions are met (like living in a regional area for 3 years).

NSW Offers 3 Pathways for Nomination.

Pathway 1: Currently Employed with a Regional NSW Employer:

You must have worked continuously in a designated regional area of NWS and have done so for the past six continuous months.

Your nominated occupation must be eligible for the Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491).

Pathway 2: Be Invited by Investment NSW:

NSW conducts invitation rounds throughout the financial year, selecting candidates based on factors like points score and English proficiency.

Your occupation must be on the NSW Regional Skills List. 

You must also be working in NSW, residing in NSW for at least three continuous months, or residing offshore for at least three continuous months before applying.

Pathway 3: Recent Graduate from a Regional NSW Institution:

You must have completed a bachelor's degree or higher from a regional NSW institution within the past two years, with your study related to your nominated occupation, which must be on the NSW Regional Skills List.

The residency requirements are the same as Pathway 2.
