South Australia’s General Skilled Migration program is now open
The General Skilled Migration (GSM) program offers a variety of pathways for both onshore and offshore skilled migrants. This comprehensive program includes key streams such as the Skilled Employment in South Australia stream, the South Australian Graduates stream, and the Outer Regional Skilled Employment stream. Additionally, it provides opportunities for offshore applicants with skills in high demand within the state.
Onshore Streams
Eligible onshore applicants who meet the necessary criteria can now submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) for state nomination. South Australia has made 464 occupations available across the onshore streams. ROIs will be reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year, with successful applicants receiving invitations to apply for state nomination through one of the following streams:

464 occupations are available for the onshore streams. ROIs will be reviewed throughout the year and successful applicants will receive an invitation to apply for state nomination through one of the following streams:
Skilled Employment in South Australia stream – for applicants who have shown commitment to South Australia and have South Australian work experience in their skilled occupation.
South Australian Graduates stream – South Australia continues to retain those who have studied and work here in SA in their skilled occupation.
Outer Regional Skilled Employment stream – supporting the regions to address skills shortages in outer regional areas of South Australia, applicants working in the regions in their nominated or closely related occupation can apply through this stream.
1. Skilled Employment in South Australia Stream
Current Employment:- Applicants must be employed in South Australia in their nominated or closely related occupation.
Work Experience:- Demonstrated skilled work experience in South Australia in the nominated occupation.
Commitment to South Australia:- Evidence of a long-term commitment to living and working in South Australia.
Skill Level:- The occupation must be listed on the South Australian Skilled Occupation List.
Registration of Interest (ROI):- Must submit an ROI and be selected for nomination.
Residency Status:- Must reside in South Australia at the time of application.
2. South Australian Graduates Stream
- South Australian Qualification:- Must have completed a qualification in South Australia.
- Current Employment:- Currently working in South Australia in the nominated or closely related occupation.
- Work Experience:- Relevant work experience in the nominated or closely related occupation.
- Skill Level:- The occupation must be listed on the South Australian Skilled Occupation List.
- Commitment to South Australia:- Evidence of long-term commitment, such as ongoing employment and ties to the state.
- Registration of Interest (ROI):- Must submit an ROI and be selected for nomination.
- Residency Status:- Must reside in South Australia at the time of application
3. Outer Regional Skilled Employment Stream
- Current Employment:- Must be currently employed in an outer regional area of South Australia in the nominated occupation or a closely related occupation.
- Work Experience:- Demonstrated skilled work experience in outer regional South Australia.
- Regional Commitment:- Evidence of commitment to living and working in an outer regional area of South Australia.
- Skill Level:- The occupation must be on the South Australian Skilled Occupation List and available for the outer regional area.
- Registration of Interest (ROI):- Must submit an ROI and be selected for nomination.
- Residency Status:- Must reside in an outer regional area of South Australia at the time of application.
